Projects

What have I been up to?

A bit of this and a bit of that.

I've recently graduated with a Bachelor of Information Technology from RMIT University, and I've created a few personal projects to try out new technologies and to solve some lifestyle problems. I've also created a CRM for my sister's business.

DriveHub

This was my final project for my Bachelor of Information Technology. It's a web application that allows users to reserve a car and collect it from a pod. DriveHub is a complete on-demand car rental solution, and includes:

  • An admin portal.
  • Payment processing with Stripe
  • Email verification with SendGrid
  • A complete test suite
  • It was built using ASP.NET Core and SQL Server 2022. I'm very proud of this project. We received a High Distinction for it. In this project I led the development team, developed the technical solutions, coded the back-end, designed the database, and managed the deployments.

    Activities with Bernie

The "Activities with Bernie" app is a custom-built CRM designed to simplify administrative tasks for NDIS care workers. Developed for my sister, the app streamlines quoting, invoicing, and financial management, including tax debt calculations and projections for average monthly and predicted annual income.

Built using ASP.NET Core and SQLite, the app is deployed in a Docker container on a Raspberry Pi 5 for cost-efficiency and enhanced security. Its user-friendly interface lets my sister focus less on admin and more on her clients. Regular updates ensure accuracy with tax tables and NDIS payment rates, making the app a reliable and tailored solution.

    The Rick

    "Technology should be invisible."

I wanted a device that would function as a home dashboard to help me to be more mindful with my technology use.

    Beowulf

I built this bad-boy in 2015 and it's still going strong. It's an eight bay NAS powered by an Intel i3 to give it a bit of snap. I've been developing some useful software for it and it's been a great learning experience.

    Apollo

Apollo is my Raspberry Pi 5. I've been using it for a variety of projects since the 2B model. It's a great platform for learning about Linux, networking, and programming.

    Dragon

I wanted a decent workstation to do my IT and music degrees with, so I designed and built this PC in mid-2020. It's been rock-solid for coding and music production.
