Ian McElwaine

Who me?

Hi, I’m Ian. I’m a software engineer with a knack for finding practical solutions to everyday problems. My work is all about creating tools that make life easier, like the custom CRM I built for my sister, an NDIS care worker. Using ASP.NET Core and SQLite, I developed a system that handles quoting, invoicing, and financial summaries. It’s saved her time and cut down on admin stress, which is exactly the kind of outcome I aim for in my projects.

When I’m not coding, you’ll probably find me with a saxophone in hand. I mainly play tenor, but I’ve also got an alto—and both are matching silver Yamahas. I’m all about improvisation and love jumping into jam sessions or gigs, whether it’s at a wedding or a local venue. Music has been a big part of my life, and I think it’s shaped how I approach development too—quick thinking, creativity, and collaboration.

This site is where I share a bit about what I’ve built and what I’m passionate about. Thanks for dropping by. If you’re curious about anything, feel free to reach out.
